Description: CULINARY USAGE: Aromatizes liqueurs. Add chopped or whole seeds to bread, focacce and cakes. HEALTH: Both aniseed and the "star" aniseed, a plant which belongs to the magnolia family, work as a tonic, expectorant and perspirant. Add aniseed to a decoction of Primula flowers and roots to calm coughs. An infusion after meals helps digestion and combats flatulance. Chew lightly toasted seeds after meals to help digestion and perfume breath.
