Chaste Tree is mainly used for PMS with relatively low progesterone, ovarian problems and hyperprolactinanemia

*low dose 0.5-4 mls per day, 5-30 mls per week

- Progesterone deficiency
- Corpus luteal insufficiency
- Erratic ovulation
- Acne (male and female)
- Relative oestrogen excess
- Polycystic
- Ovary syndrome
- Cystic hyperplasia of the endometrium
- Uterine fibroids, endometriosis (higher doses)
- Oligomenorrhoea, polymenorrhoea
- Dysfunctional uterine bleeding menorrhagia, metrorrhagia
- Secondary amenorrhoea
- Benign breast growths, ovarian cyst (follicular), painful ovulation
- Sleep maintenance insomnia
- Excess libido in men (higher doses)
- Metrorrhagia (from functional causes), menorrhagia, polymenorrhoea
- Withdrawal from HRT
Major Safety Issues:
Best not taken in conjunction with progestogenic drugs, the contraceptive pill or hormone replacement therapy.
May aggravate pure spasmodic dysmenorrhoea not associated with premenstrual syndrome
